Congrats to Raymont Nailon Jr. of Helix High School on his commitment to Humboldt State University. Nailon was very impressive in his positional drills will OPW staff coach Jason Van. In the RB vs LB drill he showed his athleticism by making an amazing catch. Click here for details
Congrats to Kenny Keys of Helix High School on committing to the University of Las Vegas. Keys attended our 2009 combine in San Diego, California. He was just a sophomore at the event but he did catch the eyes of the coaches. He worked with the DB's and showed his athleticism in one on one drills. He will be a great asset for the Rebels as Bobby Hauck looks to turn around the program. The following was our prospect report:
Kenny Keys stands at 6'3'' 160. This kid will be something special if he puts in the hard work the next couple of years. He tested okay for a sophomore but has great athletic skills that will be a great value at the corner back position. Keys has a massive arm wing span that will prevent receivers from breaking his cushion and allow him to compete when the ball is in the air. We are excited to watch him develop. April 10, 2009.
Mitch Haldane of Mountlake Terrace High School has signed with Central Washington University. Haldane attended our 2010 combine in Seattle and proved that size is not everything for your position. He was very focused and performed at a high tempo. Mitch will have continued success from his passion and determination. The following was our prospect report of him:
Mitch Haldane lacks great size for the LB position but is a good athlete who showed quickness and good range in positional drills. He is a competitive linebacker that did not shy away from any challenges presented to him. He has the lateral agility and quickness to be an effective collegiate football player. Congrats to Patrick Taiwo on signing with Central Washington University. Taiwo definitely turned heads with his great display of athleticism at our 2010 combine in Seattle, Washington. He will be a demonate player at that level as we rated him a Division I player. The following was our prospect report of him:
Patrick Taiwo was one of our best defensive linemen in the combine. He has average height with good bulk for the position. He was very impressive in all the combine tests. He has natural power and strength at the point of attack and uses his hands to create separation. Taiwo feels pad pressure well to find the ball and has natural instincts. He is a powerful tackler in a confined area, and runs to the ball consistently. He is a solid pass rusher that anticipates well off the edge and can be a impact player in this phase of his game. Congrats to Dalton Mendenhall of Rogers High in Puyallup, Washington on making a verbal commitment to Army-West Point. Dalton definitely stood out at our 2010 Seattle Combine. When we were evaluating him, we all thought he is the definition of "eye of the tiger". Due to the U.S. Military Academy appointment process, names of recruited cadet-athletes are not available until they arrive for Reception Day (R-Day) this summer. Therefore, the Academy will not have a release available at this time. The following was our prospect report of him:
Dalton Mendenhall is a defensive end that can play the outside backer position due to his speed and athleticism. He has a powerful initial jolt and uses his hands well to control and leverage defenders. He can be stout verse the run as well as showing versatility pressuring the quarterback off the edge. Mendenhall has a motor that never stops on the field. He verified this in positional drills and one on ones vs. the OL. He tested excellent for a high school defensive lineman posting one of the fastest 40yds times of the day. April 26, 2010Profile page link http://officialplayerwatch.com/community/dalton
Zack Berg has signed his letter of intent to continue his education and schooling at the University of Wyoming. We had the opportunity to meet Zack at our 2010 Athlectic Connection-Officialplayerwatch.com combine in Seattle Washington. Zack had an outstanding combine posting in the top five for all the tests. The following was our prospect report of him:
Zack Berg has a combination of size, strength and athleticism for the safety position. He possesses excellent speed, quickness and burst which makes him a versatile player who could fit in several different schemes. In the DB positional drills he was very natural in his transitions. There is plenty room for improvement as he is a hard worker. He is aggressive with the ball in the air, trying to make a play on the ball. He demonstrated a decent job of one on one skills vs. the WR’s. Berg is a pure athlete that will be able to contribute on offense, defense and special teams.April 26, 2010 Profile page link officialplayerwatch.com/community/zackb
